Rioja
The Rioja wine district is located in northern Spain, in the valley of the Ebro river. The vineyard area covers almost 60.000 hectares, with an average annual production of 2,130,000 hectolitres. Rioja was granted Denomination of Origin status in 1926 by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and in 1991 became the only Qualified Denomination of Origin (Denominación de Origen Calificada) in recognition of the high quality attained by its wines and the strict quality control imposed on grapes and wine in the region.

  Vinos de Madrid
Vinos de Madrid
Madrid as a province used to belong to Castilla-La Mancha when it was called New Castile, but now it is its own Comunidad Autónoma. People kind of look at you funny when they hear about the wines from D.O. Vinos de Madrid. They think you are joking, because as urban sprawl gobbles up more and more land, they can't imagine where and how this land would be suitable for viniculture.

  Ribera Del Duero
